I have always been an active person. I enjoyed cycling, jogging, swimming, weight training. I exercised several days a week.
To my surprise I found out I had a heart blockage and had to undergo a double by pass. After my surgery I went into cardio rehab but still had the desire to get back to my life of activity and so I sought out a personal trainer. He guided me safely in weight training and expanded my cardio ability.
We had to train at a gym and I felt self conscious about the way my body had weakened. I was a bit hesitant. I persisted and got some great direction from the personal trainer.
Now I am back to doing the things I enjoy. I am back on my bicycle, jogging, swimming, golfing, weight training, etc.
I knew there were others like me, wanting to get back in shape after a surgery or being inactive for a period of time. Therefore, I became a personal trainer myself and decided I would be committed to working out with people who wanted their life back but needed to “kick start” it somewhere other then a gym.
Now I work with clients who are getting back to fitness in their homes, at parks near their homes or at fitness centers in their communities.
